The 2009 Association
Duals will be held on May 1st- 3th at Liberty High School in Brentwood, CA. Weigh-ins for Greco
will be Friday the 1st from 6:00-8:00pm and Freestyle weigh-ins will be on Saturday the 17th from 12:00-1:00pm (if a wrestler
is competing in both styles then they only need to weigh in on Friday). The Greco duals will take place on Saturday,
the Freestyle duals will run one round on Saturday evening and the rest on Sunday. We will be having tryouts for the
team on Saturday April 25th at Fresno City College (Weigh-in & warm-up at 8am).
Team members will earn a spot on the team by winning their weight class in either the Freestyle or Greco division at the tryouts
(only Juniors & Cadets can compete on this team). Any unfilled spots will be filled according to Resume (see other
side of this page). The criteria for filling the unfilled positions will be determined by credentials and need. Factors
that will also be taken into consideration are: - Club Balance- Our goal is to have a large cross-section of our association represented.
- Experience in Freestyle/ Greco- those wrestlers that have been involved
extensively in wrestling Freestyle & Greco will have precedent over those that haven't.
To be considered for the team applicants must attend at least 3 CVWA practices Ø Thur, April 23rd 4:30-6pm in the Clovis North wrestling room. Ø Tues, April 28th 4:30-6pm in the Buchanan wrestling room. Ø Wed, April 29th 4:30-6pm in the Buchanan wrestling room. Ø Thur, April 30th 4:30-6pm in the Clovis North wrestling room. *Upon
selection to the team applicants must submit a $75 & a $25 check payable to CVWA (the $25 check is a
security deposit which will be returned after the tournament) or $100 cash ($25 of it is a security deposit and will
be returned upon the conclusion of the trip). **Applicants
will be notified of the final roster via e-mail on April 27th.
